Interkulturller Austausch

Internationales Workcamp 2024

We are a group of 10 young people from all over the world, that got together for a project of working on a garden with a pond that is meant to be sustainable for the environment.

During our exciting 14-day workcamp at the Goßberg Farmhouse Universitas, we also got the chance to spend a few days with Oliver, a teacher for permaculture. He managed to teach us many things surrounding the basics of nature and permaculture. We could talk about our own ideas on how to take care of both the earth and its people while elaborating fair share. In a whole it was very interesting and useful learning the insights into sustainable farming, the design of ecosystems and the principles of working with nature rather than against it.

These new inputs and ideas we got from Olivers workshops also inspired and motivated us for our own workcamp project. But apart from learning about permaculture, the purpose of workcamps is to also work together in a team, developing communication skills and learning about the differences and similarities of each other’s cultures. We all arrived at this workcamp from Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany and Japan, with each of us having learned different social rules, foods, values and places. Considering that, interactions are bound to be different from how we’re used to them. In this context the social aspect of permaculture also impacted our every day life at Goßberg.

The Farmhouse Universitas is a nature conservation station and established its origin in the ecology movement of the 70s. Andreas is the main face behind it, our caretaker during our stay and the planner of our project. Together with him we put the plans into action and got to enjoy many fun moments. The time we spent at Goßberg was very unique and inspiring for us. Also thanks to Olivier who prepared and explained a lot for us, we got to learn many new things.

Big Thanks to Andreas and this wunderful Place, dear Fabiana.

"Wasser ist die wertvollste Resource die wir haben. Deshalb bemühe ich mich darum Wasser in der Landschaft anzubauen.”
